To test the Select From View Filter functionality open the 3D View called “Bubbles”. This view has one filter activated called “Walls”, which is responsible for making those two walls pink. On the Bubbles menu click on the Select From View Filter button and select one View Filter, in this case “Walls”. Do this without having elements selected in Revit. This action will select all the elements highlighted by the “Walls“ filter.

Notice that as explained in the previous page the Select With Category Filter button becomes active once you have selected some items, in this case by using the Select From View Filter option. You can now select and deselect items by using the Categories menu.

Bubbles provides access also to filters that are not being used in the current view. In this case, there is a view filter called “Floors” that is not used in the 3D View “Bubbles”. To change the selection by view filter go to Select From View Filter and choose the desired filter, in this case “Floors”.
