Align Link is a very simple plugin that moves, rotates and pins any IFC or RVT link in Revit based on the document's active shared coordinates, allowing for easier open BIM workflows. It exists because Shared Coordinates with IFC files didn’t work for older versions of Revit. It is no longer needed for newer versions of Revit.
Use the demo file (House 1.rvt) to try Align Link.
Before doing anything, make sure that the House1.ifc file is loaded in the Revit file. To do this go to Insert → Link → Manage Links → IFC.
Open the 3D View named "Align Link". Select the IFC file (it is the model on the right side of the view). To run Align Link go to Toolbox → Toolbox → Align Link. This way you will place the link in the correct position and pin it. If you need to move the IFC link later for some reason unpin it (shortcut is UP). To move it back to the correct position just selected the link and use Align Link again.

To make sure that Align Link works in Revit you must have installed this.
