Radar will create a report every time you save or synchronize your Revit project. But before it can do that, you will need to input a few settings in the Radar add-in. In the Revit Toolbar, go to Toolbox → Radar. The Synchronization Monitor Setting window will open and show the General Settings Tab.
General Settings Tab

- Report Directory - Select the directory where the reports will be saved (be sure to ask your project manager about the correct location). You can also type the correct path to the folder. After the first save/sync, the folder for the reports will be automatically generated, even if it did not exist before.
- Report Settings (optional) - The report settings are optional fields that you can fetch from the Revit file Browser Organization.
- Active - Toggle the “Active” button so that it turns blue / moves to the right. When this button is active, every time the Revit project is saved/synchronized, a report will be created in the folder specified in (1).
- Save - Save your changes to the Revit file. You only need to set these settings once and after the first sync the whole team will get them as well. It is not necessary to set these settings for every user, as the whole team will get the settings after the following synchronization. It is also possible to change the settings from any computer who has access to the Revit file that has these specific settings.
Report Settings (optional)
- The Browser Organization Name is the name of the parameter that corresponds to the
Browser Organization of your Revit model. You can check this by right clicking on the Views
category of the Project Browser and in Views tab under “Select the organization scheme to apply to the Project Browser”:

- The Browser Organization Parameters: refer to the parameters that can be found in
the Browser Organization of your Revit model. You can check this by right clicking on the Views
category of the Project Browser and in Views, click on Edit and check under the “Grouping and Sorting” tab. You will need to include them in the HW Settings menu. Each rule must be separated by a comma.
- BIM Manager, BIM Coordinator and BIM Champion Parameters: these three items refer to the parameters that have been included in the Project Information for the file. To check these parameters and include them in the Settings, go to Manage and then click on Project Information.
- Family Naming Pattern: this pattern is based on regular expressions that specify a search criteria. It is useful to check that Revit Families are using the desired naming convention. The only part of that expression that needs to be modified is “HS_”, the rest of the characters of the expression only need to be changed if the user desires to change the expression itself. The editable part can contain only letters, numbers, hyphens and underscores.
- Links Relative You will need to enter part of the path where the project links will be stored and loaded from. It should look similar to the below format:
\Design\02_BIM\04_Import\3D_RevitLinks BIM Pulse does not require the complete path, only part of it, because it only checks if the path contains the specific part that the user has specified. This item only looks for the path that is common to the storing system of the links in every project.
To open the Radar Settings click on the corresponding button of the Radar panel in Revit. This menu contains the items that can be customized so that Radar knows how to look for the parameters according to the naming convention of the BIM standards that are followed in each Revit model:
It is not necessary to set these settings for every user, as the whole team will get the settings after the following synchronization (in the case of a central model). It is also possible to change the settings from any computer who has access to the Revit file that has these specific settings.
Browser Organization Name
The Browser Organization Name corresponds to the Browser Organization of the Revit model. Therefore, in this cell, write the name of the Browser Organization located in the Project Browser of Revit File.
