Isolating elements

To isolate the elements with a specific material in the Mode menu click on Isolate. So, you can get a temporary view where you only see these elements. To go back to the previous view on the Paint menu you can click on Clear. Or you can exit the Material Goggles menu and click on Temporary Hide/Isolate on the bottom ribbon (the sunglasses icon). Notice that due to Revit limitations, leaving the Isolate option active does not mean that it will still be working. To make it work properly again click on other category, as this is the way to refresh the plugin or simply close the menu and open it again.

Painting limitations

If you use the option All in the Paint menu, all elements get a color of at least one of the materials that compose them, but not all the colors corresponding to the materials that the elements contain. This feature is only useful when you are analyzing elements that only contain one materials. In this example you can see that there are walls that contain both the “Brown” and the “Default Wall” materials. When clicking on All, the plugin colors some these walls using the color of the “Default Wall” material and not the color corresponding to the “Brown” material.
